Dear Senator/Assembly Member: As a constituent in your district, I am writing to let you know I am opposed to Section 26 of the Workers' Compensation Reform Bill S. 3322/A. 6163. The issue is choice. Section 26 strips injured workers like me of the right to choose their own pharmacy. It gives insurance companies the power to control my healthcare and control the medications that I receive. Injured workers will be forced to forfeit trusted relationships and medical histories they have built with their pharmacy. Even worse, under the new system I will be unable to fill my prescriptions if my claim is being contested unless I pay for them out of my own pocket. Most injured workers could not afford to do that. Having to choose between medications and a grocery bill or mortgage payment is not a choice anyone should have to make. Please, do whatever you can to see this section of the law is amended to serve the interest of the injured workers, not the insurance carriers. Thank you for your time.
